Lorne Goldenberg

Lorne brings extensive experience in workplace wellness through his company Strength Tek Fitness for over 37 years and high-performance sports training with professional and elite amateur athletes. He has worked with 1000’s of individual pro hockey stars over the past 40 years as well as a strength and conditioning coach for several NHL teams. From 2018-2022 Lorne was the Sports Performance Director for Ben Roethlisberger QB of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Lorne’s work environment has also included the CFL, OHL, QMJHL Olympic athletes and many years with Gary Roberts High Performance Training. Lorne graduated from the University of Ottawa with an honors degree in Physical Education, he is a Clinical Exercise Physiologist with the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology and is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.

Justin Cherrier

Justin Cherrier has been a CSEP Certified Personal Trainer since 2011. Most recently, he has made a transition towards teaching and is now employed with the school board. Throughout his years in the fitness industry, Justin has worn many hats, including manager, trainer and providing therapy options, and has worked within Military Bases, schools, rehabilitation centres, high performance centres, personal training boutiques and outdoor spaces. Justin enjoys helping people and leading them towards specific goals within power development, injury management and mobility.

Sarah Zahab B.Sc., R.Kin, CEP, is a Clinical Exercise Physiologist and Registered Kinesiologist. She is an award winning fitness presenter with 23 years of fitness industry experience. She is the owner of Continuum Fitness and Movement Performance in Ottawa, a multidisciplinary clinic offering Kinesiology, Physiotherapy, Massage Therapy and Athletic services (www.continuumfitness.ca). Sarah specializes in bridging the gap between rehab and return to sports activities, focusing on correcting muscle imbalances and perfecting alignment, movement patterns and optimizing kinesthetic awareness. Sarah is a former international fitness competitor, nationally ranked race walker and regular fitness expert on CTV Morning Live Ottawa. Ken Brunet

Ken Brunet obtained his exercise science degree at the University of Ottawa and is a Clinical Exercise Physiologist with the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology. He was the director of the Exercise Physiology Lab at the Ottawa Sport Science Centre for 5 years and is currently co-founder and President of the Peak Centre for Human Performance; an Elite Athlete Testing and Training Centre. Ken specializes in training monitoring, training plan development and consulting for many National/Olympic and professional team athletes and coaches. While being part of many sport science committees for National Sport Organizations, Ken also teaches, consults and gives seminars to various groups such as: physical education teachers, national coaching program, college level courses, personal trainer, fitness instructors etc…Ken focuses most of his efforts on applying physiological data to eliminate the guesswork with any training prescription.

Roger Zemek

MD, FRCPC

Best Practice Pathways for the Management of Concussion

Dr. Roger Zemek is a full Professor at the University of Ottawa, Tier-1 Clinical Research Chair at the uOttawa Brain and Mind Research Institute, a Senior Scientist at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario Research Institute, a practicing Pediatric Emergency physician, and the cofounder of 360 Concussion Care. He completed his undergraduate studies in Applied Mathematics at Yale University, and his medical school and pediatric residency at Columbia University in New York City. He holds national and international leadership positions: Chair of the Pediatric Emergency Research Canada (PERC) network, Executive committee of the Canadian Concussion Network (CCN), lead for Living Guideline for Pediatric Concussion Care, and member of international committees for concussion (e.g., NIH-NINDS, International Initiative for Traumatic Brain Injury Research, North American Brain Injury Society board of directors, 6th International Consensus on Concussion).  He is the principal investigator on numerous federal peer-reviewed grants, with expertise in pediatric concussion. Among his awards and honors, he is a recipient of the Dr. Jane Gillett Research Award from the International Brain Injury Association “granted to an individual or organization for their outstanding contribution to advance the cause of acquired brain injury in Canada.”
