The Get Active Questionnaire for Pregnancy (GAQ-P), led by Dr. Margie Davenport, and developed in partnership with the Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Canada, the College of Family Physicians of Canada and the Canadian Physiotherapy Association Women’s Health Division, continues to receive international interest and has now been translated into Polish.
The GAQ-P is an evidence-informed pre-screening tool for physical activity in pregnancy and an important first step in ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience. Screening identifies those who may need more evaluation or to see their Obstetric Health Care Provider before they begin or continue to be physically active.
It has been endorsed by the International Society of Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity (ISBNPA), the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), Exercise is Medicine Canada, and ParticipACTION.
Additional translation projects are currently underway to create versions of the GAQ-P in Chinese, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, and Turkish.
