Health and Fitness Professionals Annual Lecture: In Honour of Gord Sleivert Terms of Reference

Purpose

To recognize the research and other contributions of Gord Sleivert to the area of Applied Sport Research and/or Sport Nutrition.

Criteria

The nominee for the Health and Fitness Program Annual Lecture will be a noted investigator in the area of applied sport and/or sport nutrition research, with an exemplary publication record. An individual who has received the award within the previous 5 years will not be eligible.

Selection Process

The Local Organizing Committee of the CSEP Annual Scientific Meeting will select an individual to be ratified by the CSEP Board prior to any announcement.

Recognition of the Recipient

  • The recipient will present a 45-minute lecture on a topic of his/her chosen topic the area of applied sport or nutrition research at the CSEP Annual Scientific Meeting on the day of Health & Fitness programming (normally Saturday).
  • The recipient will receive a $1,000.00 honourarium, plus expenses to attend the Annual Scientific Meeting.

For the first five years the lecture shall be in honour of Gord Sleivert.

Note: Funding for this award will require the development of a fund source(s).
