This award is designed to offer financial support to undergraduate and graduate students, enabling them to attend the CSEP Annual Conference and engage with the latest in exercise physiology, network with professionals. As a commitment to fostering education and professional development among its members, CSEP offers this award to ensure promising students can benefit from the valuable learning and networking opportunities the conference provides, despite financial constraints.
- The applicants must be an undergraduate or graduate student at the time of application.
- The applicant must be a CSEP member in good standing when applying and receiving the award.
- The applicant must have submitted an abstract following the Annual Scientific Meeting Submission Guidelines.
- Provide a personal statement (~500 words) detailing the applicant’s research significance and its alignment with CSEP’s mission.
- Include a one-page (~300 words) letter from the applicant’s primary academic advisor detailing the applicant’s contributions to the research and justifying the financial need.
- Priority will be given to applicants who can best demonstrate a financial need as stated by the primary academic advisor.
- The financial need assessment will be based on geographical need, and funding status of home laboratory.
- Applicants may indicate other financial needs in the personal statement.
- The CSEP Member Services Committee will review the submissions and defer to the Local Organizing Committee for final approval.
- Please note that incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
- The award recipients will receive complimentary registration to the conference.
- The award recipients will also be presented with a certificate of acknowledgement at the CSEP Annual Conference Gala.
- Following the CSEP Annual Conference, the award recipients will receive $500 (CAD) to assist with travel expenses to the conference.
