The Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP) is pleased to announce the appointment of its 2025–2026 Board of Directors, marking an exciting new chapter in the organization’s ongoing mission to advance the science of exercise, health, and performance across Canada.
At the forefront of this transition, Dr. Kevin Power of Memorial University of Newfoundland begins his term as Chair of the CSEP Board of Directors. A long-time member, researcher, and advocate for evidence-informed practice, Dr. Power brings a deep commitment to supporting exercise professionals and researchers nationwide.
“I’m excited to begin my term as CSEP Chair and to continue giving back to the people and organization that have shaped my career and passion for exercise science,” said Dr. Power. “I’m thrilled to welcome our new Board members. Their leadership, expertise, and commitment to CSEP will be instrumental in promoting evidence-informed practice and empowering exercise professionals across the country.”
Under Dr. Power’s leadership, the 2025–2026 Board brings together a diverse and accomplished group of professionals whose collective expertise spans academia, applied practice, governance, and public service.

Honouring Past Leadership
CSEP also wishes to recognize Dr. Kristi Adamo of the University of Ottawa, who has completed her two-year term as Chair. During her tenure, Dr. Adamo guided CSEP through a period of renewed strategic focus, national visibility, and organizational growth. Her leadership has been marked by collaboration, transparency, and a deep commitment to fostering inclusivity within the exercise science profession.
Dr. Adamo will remain on the Board as Past Chair for the 2025–2026 term, continuing to lend her experience and insight to CSEP’s ongoing initiatives.

As the new Board begins its mandate, CSEP remains steadfast in its mission: to support its members, champion evidence-based practice, and strengthen the role of exercise physiology in optimizing the health, fitness, and performance of all Canadians.
