Kalie McKenna headshot.Ottawa, ON – September 17, 2025 – The Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP) is pleased to announce the appointment of Kalie McKenna as its new Executive Director, effective September 22, 2025.

Kalie brings more than 15 years of senior leadership experience in national not-for-profit organizations. She has built her career leading operational strategies, advancing organizational change, and championing inclusive, collaborative workplaces. Her leadership journey includes senior roles at Gymnastics Canada, the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport, Scouts Canada, Equestrian Canada, and Biathlon Canada. In each of these roles, Kalie has consistently driven results while keeping people and mission at the heart of her work.

Kalie’s career highlights include overseeing the redesign of national operations, launching large-scale digital platforms, and leading strategies that improved both reach and sustainability.

“Kalie brings a dynamic blend of leadership experience, strategic insight, and a deep commitment to advancing our mission,” says Dr. Kristi Adamo, Chair of the CSEP Board of Directors. “We’re excited for the energy and perspective she’ll bring to our work and community.”

As the national authority in exercise science, CSEP promotes evidence-based practice and professional standards that support individual health goals while ensuring safety and credibility across the fitness and health landscape. In welcoming Kalie, CSEP continues its commitment to elevating the role of exercise professionals, researchers, and clinicians in advancing the health and performance of Canadians.
