Location: Virtual

Hours: Approximately 15-20 hours/week, part-time, flexibility in weekly scheduling (classes provided in Atlantic Time zone)

Duration: Immediate to December 2025 (possibility for extension)

Pay: $35/hour or negotiated depending on experience

 

Beck Exercise Physiology Inc is a small, privately owned company looking to add the right exercise professional to its compliment of Clinical Exercise Physiologists to provide quality exercise intervention for people in PEI. Those with a passion for helping people with chronic health conditions are encouraged to apply.

 

The Candidate:

  • Have an undergrad in Kinesiology or Exercise Science from an accredited university
  • Must hold a current CSEP-CEP designation or be registered with their provincial Kinesiology association in good standing
  • Must hold full professional liability insurance of at least $2 million
  • Have a reliable, secure (not shared) computer with a camera, reliable internet access, and access to a private location in which to delivery classes. Space should be well lit and clean and quiet, although the size does not need to be large (approx. 12 feet by 12 feet). Does not need to be a studio space, maybe be within home.
  • Have a minimum of 2 years working directly with people with chronic disease and chronic pain
  • Demonstrated person centred/family focused, diversity relevant and population health approaches to care
  • GLA:D certification (or willingness to obtain) an asset
  • Experience with individual and group education and utilizing adult education and motivational interviewing principles
  • Proficiency in English required, French is an asset
  • Must work efficiently independently and respond to emails/questions in a timely manner
  • Must be willing to deliver standardized programming and to develop new programming materials

 

The Work:

All programming is offered virtually, and class/assessment times are very flexible. Some evening and daytime availability will be required. Classes are delivered to people living in PEI, so time zone consideration is necessary. There will be a requirement to deliver a number of 6-week foundational programs which can be scheduled with flexibility, with some weekly (maintenance) programs required for the duration of the contract, while others can be schedule in 6-week sections.

Standardized program delivery is necessary to ensure quality and continuity across all programs. Resources including education sessions and exercise prescriptions will largely be provided. Collaboration for new resource development will be needed.
