Canadian Sport Institute Atlantic (CSIA) is a collaborative and magnetic organization whose purpose is to partner with coaches, athletes, and organizations in the pursuit of excellence. Canadian Sport Institute’s High-Performance training centre is in the UNB Kinesiology building.
REDS Recreation provides physical activity and wellness opportunities for students, faculty/staff, alumni, and the community. We offer memberships, club sports & intramurals, group fitness, fee-based programs, aquatic-based activities, unorganized recreational opportunities, occupational testing, outdoor recreation and more in both group and individual experiences. We are housed in The Richard J. CURRIE CENTER although many activities take place throughout the UNB campus and community.

Standard Work Hours: Variable Hours & Days | 36.25 hours per week
Salary Range: $40,431 – $50,545 per annum
This salary range is subject to increases based upon the terms of the new collective agreement once signed by both parties.
YOUR FOCUS
Reporting to the Senior Strength & Conditioning Coach (CSIA) and the Associate Director, REDS Recreation, the Exercise Physiologist & Strength Coach is a partnership between REDS Recreation and Canadian Sport Institute Atlantic.
Instruct progressive programs (including assessments) for various special populations, including general strength and conditioning programs.
Supervise strength and conditioning sessions in the High-Performance Centre.
Instruct one-on-one and/or group personal training sessions.
Lead testing sessions for both groups and individuals.
Assist with individual & group assessments.
Assist in training, mentoring, and evaluating other instructors of special populations and healthy strength & conditioning programs.
Manage and present performance and monitoring data.
Other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU BRING
A University Degree in Kinesiology or a related field.
Current Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CSEP-CEP) Certification.
Current National Strength & Conditioning Association Strength & Conditioning Specialist (NSCA-CSCS) Certification.
Current First Aid, CPR and AED Certification
Additional Strengths
Additional health and fitness certifications would be considered an asset.
Additional training with special populations would be considered an asset.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience working at CSIA and/or UNB REDS Recreation would be considered an asset.
English/French bilingualism would be considered an asset.
