THE ROLE 

Supporting and working alongside the members of the Canadian Armed Forces and actively preparing them to defend and serve our country could be your path to an extremely fulfilling career. 

As part of a dynamic and dedicated team, as the Physical Exercise Specialist, you will have the opportunity to work with a very highly motivated and professional clientele who are eager to return to duty and improve their condition. Daily, you will lead reconditioning programs for Canadian Armed Forces members who may be affected with a medical conditions and improve their functional abilities related to their physical limitations. You will have expertise in designing gender specific programs and services that support reconditioning, prevent future injury, and increase operational readiness based on established employment standards. 

Being a subject matter expert in your field, you will support your local team with training and professional development. You will assist Health Promotion partners promoting healthy practices and injury prevention through initiative such as educational programs, special events and other activities related to physical fitness.

Working with us, you’ll have the opportunity to deliver programs and services in collaboration with a highly professional team of health services practitioners. Other stakeholders will be at your disposal to ensure a client’s successful return to duty. 

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED 

Education, Certifications and Licenses 

Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Human Kinetics, Exercise Physiology, Exercise Sciences or in a related field 

Current Certified Exercise Physiologist (CEP) certification 

Current CPR and Basic First Aid qualifications 

Current National Lifeguard Service Certificate (NLS) qualification 

Experience 

In developing, implementing and delivering physical fitness programs 

In preparing and conducting physical fitness training sessions 

In communications for professional and public audiences 

In the delivery of adult education and facilitation of workshops 

In applying policies, procedures, and regulations 

Competencies, Skills and Abilities 

Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership 

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

PSP delivers evidence-based programs, which contribute to the health and well-being of the military community and operational effectiveness of the CAF.

SALARY: 52560.00 – 61860.00 CAD Per Year
