We would like to acknowledge that Mount Allison University is located within the traditional territory of Mi’kma’ki, the unceded ancestral homelands of the Mi’kmaq. Our relationship and our privilege to live on this territory was agreed upon in the Peace and Friendship Treaties of 1725 to 1752. Because of this treaty relationship, it is to be acknowledged that we are all Treaty People and have a responsibility to respect this territory.
Founded in 1839 in the liberal arts tradition, Mount Allison University’s goal is to be one of North America’s best undergraduate universities by providing a supportive, experiential, student-focused approach to teaching and research. Mount Allison prides itself as a small undergraduate university and maintains a low student-to-faculty ratio. It offers a special relationship between research and teaching and a unique context for collaboration and partnerships across disciplines. The idyllic campus is situated in the historic town of Sackville, NB, just outside of Moncton, NB. Students from more than fifty countries make up a diverse, creative, and talented student body of approximately 2,300 students.
