Governor General announces new appointment to the Order of Canada Dr. Don Chisholm McKenzie

CSEP is pleased to congratulate our long standing member, Dr. Don Chisholm McKenzie for his distinguished appointment to the Order of Canada for his expertise in sports medicine and his seminal research on the effectiveness of exercise as an intervention for breast cancer patients. The Order of Canada is one of the country’s highest honours, and recognizes exceptional achievement, dedication and service to the nation.

Dr. McKenzie joined the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP) – formerly the Association of Sport Sciences (CASS) in the 1970’s and attended the yearly scientific meetings. From 1991 to 1992 Don served as President of the Board of Directors, leading the Society’s name change to the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP), as well as the Society’s official journal, Applied Physiology, Nutrition and Metabolism.
